What Citelight collects, why, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.
Citelight measures how AI assistants describe real estate agents. To do that we hold information about our customers, and we read publicly available information about agents in the markets we cover. This page says what we hold, why, and what you can do about it.
We have written it to be read rather than to be defensible. Where a practice is unusual, we say so.
Citelight is operated by Citelight LLC, 10360 City Center Blvd #308, Pembroke Pines, FL 33025. Citelight LLC is the data controller. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any right described below, write to privacy@citelight.ai.
What you give us. Your name, email address, brokerage, the market and neighborhoods you work, your specialties, and any profile links you choose to share - your website, Zillow, Realtor.com, or brokerage bio.
What we collect automatically. Your account activity, when you sign in, and which emails we sent you and whether they were delivered.
What we never see. Your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we receive a customer reference and a subscription status, never a card number.
Your name, your market, your IP address, and your email address if you give us one. We use the IP address to prevent abuse of a service that costs us money to run for each request.
Your email address, and your name and market if you provide them. Your name and market are optional. We also record the IP address the request came from, to prevent abuse.
We ask AI assistants publicly available questions and record their answers. Questions like "who are the best real estate agents in Fort Lauderdale." When an answer names an agent, we record that name, the question, and what the assistant said.
This includes agents who are not our customers. An assistant naming an agent in a public answer is public information, and measuring who appears in those answers is the entire purpose of the service. We record what was said and where. We do not build profiles of individuals beyond what the assistants themselves returned.
If you are an agent we measure and would rather we did not, write to us. We will stop reporting on you in what we show customers, and we will not use your name to sell. You do not need to be a customer to ask, and we will not ask you why.
| what | why |
|---|---|
| Your account details | To run the service you paid for |
| Your market, neighborhoods, specialties | To ask the questions that are actually about you |
| Your profile links | To read the pages assistants read, so we can tell you what they find |
| Assistant answers | To measure visibility over time - the product is the trend, so history is the point |
| Email delivery records | To know whether your Monday brief arrived |
| IP addresses on free audits | To prevent abuse of a service with a real per-request cost |
Our lawful basis. Customer data is held to perform the contract you entered when you subscribed. The measurement of agents, and the IP addresses we keep to prevent abuse of the free audit, rest on legitimate interest. Founding-access email rests on your consent, which you can withdraw from any message we send.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to train models.
Only the services required to run Citelight:
Each of these is a processor acting on our instructions. We share nothing with anyone else unless the law requires it.
While your account is open, we keep your measurement history. The product is a trend, and deleting last month would remove the thing you are paying to see.
When you close your account, we mark it deleted immediately. You stop being audited, you stop receiving email, and your data stops being visible in the service. If you want your data erased rather than deactivated, write to privacy@citelight.ai and we will erase it.
Free audit records are kept while we prevent abuse of the free audit, and reviewed monthly. Write to us and we will delete yours.
Billing records are kept for seven years, as United States tax rules require, and that period runs regardless of whether the account has been closed.
See what we hold. You can export your data from your account page at any time, or ask us and we will send it.
Correct it. Reply to any Citelight email with the change and we will make it. Brokerage, specialties and profile links can also be corrected from your account. If something is wrong and you cannot fix it yourself, tell us and we will.
Delete it. You can close your account from your account page, which deactivates it. To have the data erased, write to privacy@citelight.ai.
Object, or ask us to stop. If you are an agent we measure and would rather we did not, write to us. We will stop reporting on you in what we show customers, and we will not use your name to sell.
If you are in the EU or UK, these rights come from the GDPR. If you are in California, they come from the CCPA. We apply them to everyone regardless of where you live, because operating two standards is how the weaker one wins.
We send you the Monday brief because it is the service you bought. Reply to any Monday brief and we will change when it arrives or pause it - stopping it does not cancel your subscription.
Transactional email - sign-in links, receipts, account notices - is not optional while you have an account, because it is how the account works.
We do not send marketing email to customers and we have no advertising list. If you asked for founding access, you receive email about founding access and nothing else, and every one of those has an unsubscribe link.
Your data is held in Supabase with access restricted to the application and to a single operator account. Payment details never touch our systems. Sign-in is by emailed link rather than a password, so there is no password of yours for us to lose.
We are a small operation and we will not pretend otherwise. We hold what we need, we hold it in as few places as we can, and we delete it when you ask.
Citelight is a professional tool for licensed real estate agents. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will email you before it takes effect. Cosmetic changes will be reflected in the date at the top.
